Small scale architecture with a big impact! This project involved a range of investigations, where us students were to extract fundamental textural, spatial, and material elements of architecture to evoke emotion. The space includes an arrival (200 sqft), transition (100 sqft), and exhibit space (300 sqft). We were assigned to research any artist, well known or not and complete a color theory investigation involving their artwork. After this investigation, we developed our architecture designs based on the inspiration of our artists. The artist that my design is inspired by is Frannkii Shirey. The goal of each space is to make one feel like they are traveling through different dimensions of consciousness. Each space holds a different mood through the use of color, and materiality. The dark, reflective material allows light to bounce off each surface and make people feel as though they are not within a small space. The bright colors reflect the euphoric feeling of being lost in the universe.
