DESCRIPTION
This was my final project for my Interior Design 201 & 202 classes during my sophomore year. The project was a mixture of group and individual work. As a class, we researched the Vastra Hamnen District of Malmo, Sweden as well as it's large immigrant population. We created a site plan and came up with a community to make Malmo more of a community. Each person was instructed to pick one large immigrant group and explore the background of their migration to Malmo, Sweden. I chose to research Iranian immigrants in Malmo, Sweden. The second part of this project involved the creation of a three level building that included a commercial space on the ground floor and residential spaces on the second and third floors. My commercial space was a hair and beauty salon. The final site was a collaboration between all ten students in the class, where all of our individual buildings formed a cohesive community within the Vastra Hamnen District.
